Considering a Home Office? Read this.

I often get questions about home office lawyering and there are many considerations when you decide where you want to situate your solo practice, long term goals, lifestyle, personality concerns.

One huge benefit which cannot be dismissed is the savings you get by not carrying addiitonal overhead. And this isn't just rent, it is commutation costs, time, gas, lunches out, clothing, drycleaning, etc.  However, we are often frightened to declare a home office because we fear the IRS and getting flagged for an audit.

So, I posted on this topic in a very appropriate place, Home Office Lawyering by Grant Griffths.  Check it out.  It may assauge your concerns, at least as far as the IRS is concerned.   Let me know your thoughts.
